Since 2003, I am engaged in researching the migration phenomenon through photography
moving me into diverse situations in Italy, Germany, Mexico and China.
It has been in 2008 when I decided to focus my artistic research on issues
that are tight related to my own personal experiences in a process of construction
and definition of the socio-cultural identity.
As result of a mixed marriage -my mother is a native Ladin,
a minority ethnic group of the Italian Alps, and my father was from South Italy-,
in South Tyrol, Italy, a recently reconfigured multicultural borderland
that is also in a continuous construction of its own identity.
I am attempting to understand this complex process of identity construction
in a way that has become the only feasible one for me to do so: by doing photography.
